What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Tadalafil?
Tadalafil is contraindicated to persons that are taking nitrates such as nitroglycerin tablets or patches.
This medicine is also contraindicated to patients that take any alpha blocker other than Flomax daily because the combination of these with Tadalafil could significantly lower blood pressure and lead to fainting or even death in some men.
What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
Tadalafil is taken as needed and there is no missed dose that is likely to happen.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
If an overdose with Tadalafil is suspected call your local emergency immediately.
What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Tadalafil?
Most common side effects that were noticed while taking Tadalafil are:
- back pain;
- stuffy nose;
- headache
- indigestion
- flushing
- muscle pain;
- abnormal vision
Patients who get back pain and muscle aches usually get them 12 to 24 hours after taking Tadalafil and these usually go away by themselves within 48 hours.
Nitrates are often prescribed for chest pain. Taking nitrates along with Tadalafil may cause a sudden, unsafe drop in blood pressure. Don't drink alcohol in excess (to a level of intoxication) with Tadalafil, as this may increase your chances of getting dizzy or lowering your blood pressure.
What other drugs can INTERACT with Tadalafil?
Your health care professional should know if you are taking other drugs to treat erectile dysfunction such as Viagra, Vardenafil, Yocon and others. You may need a dosage adjustment if you take anu of the above medications.
Tadalafil may interact with:
- nitrates;
- nitroglycerin drugs;
- alpha blockers such as doxazosin.
Tadalafil taking with the medications listed above cause very low blood pressure and may cause extreme dizziness, fainting, heart attack and even stroke.
