Generic Coreg belongs to a class of medications known as beta-blockers. It is used for treating high blood pressure and congestive heart failure. Generic Coreg reduces the heart's rate and force of contraction and thereby reduces the work of the heart. Generic Coreg also blocks adrenergic receptors on arteries and causes the arteries to relax and the blood pressure to fall. The drop in blood pressure further reduces the work of the heart since it is easier to pump blood against a lower pressure.

Inactive Ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, ypromellose, lactose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, olysorbate 80, povidone, sucrose, and titanium dioxide.

Generic Coreg is used also for the treatment of hypertension, heart failure, and heart attacks that reduced how well the heart pumps. Moreover, Generic Coreg has been proven to increase survival rates in heart failure, and help prevent another heart attack in patients with heart failure and in those who have had heart attacks that reduced how well the heart pumps.
How Should I Take Generic Coreg?
Generic Coreg comes as a tablet and should be taken orally with a full glass of water. It makes no importance if you take the medicine with or without food. But is better to take it with food twice a day. Important is not to take the medication in larger amounts or for longer than recommended by your health care professional. Stopping suddenly may make your condition worse.
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed.

What are the CONTRAINDICATIONS for taking Generic Coreg?
Generic Coreg is contraindicated in patients with:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the product;
- clinically manifest hepatic impairment;
- bronchial asthma or related bronchospastic conditions;
- second- or third-degree AV block;
- cardiogenic shock;
- decompensated heart failure requiring the use of intravenous inotropic therapy;
- sick sinus syndrome or severe bradycardia (unless a permanent pacemaker is in place);
What Happens if I MISS A DOSE?
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If your next dose is less than 4 hours away, skip the the missed dose and take the medicine at the next regularly scheduled time.
NOTE: Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
What happens if I OVERDOSE?
If Generic Coreg overdose is suspected call your health care professional immediately.
What are the possible SIDE EFFECTS of Generic Coreg?
Beta-blockers may mask the symptoms of low blood sugar or alter blood sugar levels. People with diabetes should report any changes in blood sugar levels to their physician. Generic Coreg can produce the following side effects:
- shortness of breath;
- a slow heartbeat;
- weight gain;
- fatigue;
- hypotension;
- dizziness;
- faintness.
If patients experience fatigue or dizziness, they should sit or lie down and avoid driving or hazardous tasks.
What other drugs can INTERACT with Generic Coreg?
Generic Coreg can interact with other medications, even something as seemingly harmless as nonprescription cold medicine, aspirin, vitamins, herbs, or supplements.
